My goal for this club is to have a variety of guest speakers so that members can explore all that a BMES can do!

My pup and I love to travel to new places and explore! Also binge-watching Netflix top ten shows.

Grayson Even, 3rd Year Biological Engineering

Experience & Interests: 

I'm interesting robotics in medicine, medical imaging, and biomaterials.​ I am a member of Circle K, AMSA, and UGA's Formula SAE team. Concerning BMES, I have been a member for 3 years. 

​

Club Goals:

I want to grow the size of our GroupMe which will hopefully lead to more attendance at our meeting and events.

​

For Fun:

I enjoy playing soccer and I am into aviation and cars.

Shraya Gumudavelli, 2nd Year Biological Engineering

Experience & Interests: 

I am currently an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Xie's Computational Drug Discovery Lab. My experience includes hospital volunteering, undergraduate research, working as a medical assistant/scribe, and leadership on campus! I am interested in the use of ultrasound in medical treatments and clinical engineering in general. Also, I am active in mental health advocacy, human/sexual trafficking awareness, women empowerment, and cancer support.

Club Goals:

I hope to grow BMES's membership and involvement by providing unique opportunities to our members, so they can excel in their academic careers while building personal connections and network with students and professionals.

​

For Fun: 

I have been dancing for 15 years and would love to open up my own dance school one day. I also love to cook and write in my free time. I also recently have been trying to get into painting.

Experience & Interests:

I was BMES communications chair for 2019-2020. I have 2 and a half years of experience working in labs on tissue engineering projects: my area of interest.

​

Club Goals: 

I want to grow our club membership and involvement by provided helpful outlets to our members as well as create a welcoming and loyal community for members to fall back on.

​

For Fun: 

I enjoy the artistic side of 3D printing creating figures and cool pieces. I also enjoy gaming.

Experience & Interests:

I’ve been a member of BMES since freshman year. My interests in biological engineering include tissue engineering, prosthetics, and working in the sports industry. I'm involved in SWE, Indian Cultural Exchange, and UGA Red Cross. 

​

Club Goals: 

I wish to increase the membership, spread awareness about the club, and build a community for students that share dedication and passion towards engineering.

​

For Fun: 

I like hiking, biking, and watching basketball.

Outreach Chair

Bella de Luna, 3rd Year Biological Engineering

Experience & Interests:

I'm interested in pharmaceuticals and medical device technology.

Club Goals: 
to secure interesting faculty to speak at meetings that maybe haven’t been a part of a BMES meeting previously, and to spread info on exciting opportunities around campus

For Fun:

De'Yana Hines, 5th Year Biological Engineering

Experience & Interests:

I've been a member of BMES since junior year. My interests are medical device development, clinical engineering, biomaterials, and technical/health communications. I am a member of SWE and NSBE. I also currently serve as a STEM Ambassador for Metamorphosis Powerhouse Company. Upon graduation I plan to work federally and go to graduate school.

Club Goals: 

I want to help club members with their communication skills and helping them with making connections with academic and industry professionals.

​

For Fun: 

For fun, I like to play videogames.

Jackson Whitehead, 5th Year Biological Engineering

Experience & Interests:

Experience: Regenerative Bioscience Center Lab, cell work, mouse work, 3D printing

Interests: dry lab, stem cells, programing

Club Goals: 

Come up with new ideas for meetings and having 10+ non exec board people per meeting!

Treasurer Associate

Divya Bhakta, 4th Year Biological Engineering

​

Experience & Interests:

I'm working with Dr. Gomillion this year in her Tissue Regeneration Lab where I'll be working with a 3D bioprinter to examine adipocyte cells. Additionally, I'm interested in biomaterials and polymer development.

​

Club Goals: 

Having more workshops and hands-on activities. Getting more people involved in the events and having club members talk about the work they have done to get more exposure to the field of BME.

​

For Fun: 

hiking, painting, reading
